Graduate Fashion Show 2010

The sold-out Graduate Fashion Show showcased work by fashion students and knitted textile design students

Heriot-Watt University's first combined Graduate Exhibition and Fashion Show, 'Representation:Presentation' has been hailed a tremendous success.

The events which took place over four days at the prestigious Dovecot in Edinburgh, were a wonderful showcase for the School and the University, celebrating where traditional craft and technical skills meet creativity and innovation.

Curated and directed by Mark Eley of renowned fashion and design duo Eley Kishimoto, 'Representation:Presentation' opened extremely successfully with the public exhibition which featured a curated selection of selected students' work/sketch books/ideas/prototypes over the course of the year, specifically chosen to exhibit the creative and technical process rather than final degree project outputs.

Following on from the opening of the exhibition, the School and University were delighted to welcome Dr Colin McDowell for the inaugural Oliver lecture series which saw him in conversation with Dr Britta Kalkreuter and Professor George Stylios of the School.

The finale to 'Representation:Presentation' then came with the awe-inspiring and sold out Graduate Fashion Show which showcased 19 final year fashion students, three knitted textile design students and began with coats created by third year fashion students for the Mackintosh Scottish Academy of Fashion project.
